Secretary, Economic Affairs Division, Mr. Muhammad Humair Karim Kidwai met the CEO of ICIEC / ICD H.E Khalid Khalafalla during the IsDB Group Annual Meetings in Baku. The meeting focused on operationalizing the private-sector, export credit insurance and investment de-risking components of MCPS Pakistan 2026–2030 under the One IsDB Group approach. Secretary EAD highlighted that it is important to develop a concrete pipeline of projects, programmes, financing facilities and insurance / de-risking mechanisms which the ICIEC and ICD support. ICIEC and ICD agreed to this approach. ICIEC further stated that it looked forward to signing of an MOU with EXIM Bank of Pakistan. Discussions also covered identification of priority export sectors, support to Pakistani exporters, bank-risk mitigation, LC confirmation support and investment insurance. ICD engagement was discussed through lines of finance, Islamic banking channels, SME and exporter finance, sukuk / capital-market instruments and bankable private-sector projects.
