A meeting was held between Mr. Muhammad Humair Karim Kidwai, Secretary EAD / Pakistan’s Acting Governor to the IsDB Board of Governors, and H.E. Samad Bashirali, Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, during the IsDB Group Annual Meetings in Baku. Both sides reviewed Pakistan–Azerbaijan economic cooperation and agreed to translate strong bilateral friendship into higher trade, investment, tourism and digital cooperation. Secretary EAD appreciated Azerbaijan’s import duty relaxation for Pakistani rice and emphasized implementation of the Preferential Trade Agreement and Transit Trade Agreement. The meeting also discussed Azerbaijani investment interest in Pakistan’s key Sectors including energy, real estate and hospitality sectors, promotion of reciprocal tourism, and regular meetings of sector-specific Joint Working Groups to advance agreed priorities, implementation of signed MoUs and practical collaboration between institutions and private-sector stakeholders.
