European Union and Government of Pakistan sign two financing agreements worth €59 million euros

 

Mr. Tariq Bajwa, Secretary, Economic Affairs Division, Government of Pakistan and Mr. Stefano GATTO, Charge’ d’ Affaires of the European Union signed the following agreements today at the Economic Affairs Division, Islamabad:

1. Balochistan Rural Development and Community Empowerment Programme. Euro- 46.79 million.

2. International Labour and Environmental Standards Application in Pakistan’s SMEs (ILES), Pakistan. Euro-12.6 million

Mr. Stefano GATTO, Charge’ d’ Affaires of the European Union highlighted the role the European Union is playing in the development sector of Pakistan and underlined that the European Union remained committed to assisting in this sector in the future also.

Mr. Tariq Bajwa, Secretary, Economic Affairs Division, acknowledged the role of the European Union in helping the Government of Pakistan achieve sustainable socio-economic objectives and appreciated the signing of the agreements and the European Union’s continued commitment to the development sector in Pakistan.
